Brown Recluse Spiders in Arizona
Brown Recluse spiders in Arizona are often mistakenly identified. True Brown Recluse Spiders pose health risks to humans, and enter homes during cooler months seeking shelter from cold weather.

Brown Recluse Habits/Habitats:
Brown Recluse feed on live small insects. Outside Brown Recluse are usually found: around rocks, utility boxes, wood piles, and bark. Inside homes they look for areas that are seldom disturbed, like: basements, crawl spaces, stored boxes, and attics. Eliminate these habitats to help CONTROL Brown Recluse Spiders with your Pest Control Service.
Brown Recluse Spider BITE Symptoms:
- Reddened skin with a blister forming at bite site.
- Pain and itching at bite site for 2-8 hours after bite.
- A week after the bite: An open sore with black dead tissue. This may take months to heal.
- In SOME cases people have an entire body reaction to Brown Recluse bites including: Feaver, Rash, Nausia, and Joint pain.
There are several things you can do, with your Pest Control Service, to help prevent Spider infestations:
- Eliminate debris around your home that may give spiders a place to keep an egg sack.
- Remove boxes, and paper collections, inside and outside of your home and garage/storage areas.
- Use Regular Pest Control service for Black Widows, and pests they prey on. (Black Widows LOVE crickets!)
- Switch out exterior light bulbs to less BUG attractive Yellow Light Bulbs. {Regular lights at night attract bugs like crickets, and roaches, etc.}
- Lights attracting other bugs at night will also attract Black Widow spiders, because they are a food source.
