Ant Pest Control Mesa – Phoenix AZ

January 2, 2020 by Pest Control Mesa, AZ

Pest Control

Providing Guaranteed Ant Pest Control in Greater Phoenix Mesa Valley areas with responsible methods that eliminate the colony at it’s source. For effective Ant Control, it’s important to find and correctly treat the nest so the same ants don’t come right back!

We had thousands of ants in our kitchen. They were everywhere… even in the peanut butter jar! We tried everything and could not get rid of them, so we called Responsible. The service man actually tracked the ants to a nest outside (they were coming through the wall) and eliminated the nest! – Jules

Ant Pest Control in 7 Steps

  • 1- Identification

  • Treatment for Ants depends on the species of ant, areas infested, and type of products being applied. Different types of ants have different nesting / feeding habits that should be used to help control them.

  • 2- Locate Nests

  • Locating ant nests is CRUCIAL, at minimum determine whether ants are coming from inside, or outside. Ants will return if you fail to treat the nest.

  • 3- Seal Entry Areas

  • Openings around incoming pipes, utilities, door frames, window frames, ect, should be caulked around to seal. Replace old weatherstripping and door sweeps.

  • 4- Pest Control Treatment

  • This includes treating ants at nest, and interior/exterior perimeters to prevent entry.

  • 5- Eliminate Food Sources!

  • This will include aphids if ants are feeding on their honeydew. Remove all other sources!

  • 6- Baiting

  • Baiting is often the most effective way to eliminate the entire ant colony! A few ants take bait back to feed the entire ant colony with! Baits are taken back to the colony as food, thus eliminating the entire colony in just a few days.

  • 7- Sanitation

  • When applicable remove plants that attract ants (nectar plants), trim trees and bushes touching structure (these can assist ants in entering a structure), reduce moisture sources. Eliminate APHIDS Most ants are attracted to the “honeydew” produced by Aphids including: Acrobat ants, Argentine ants, Carpenter ants, Cornfield ants, Field ants, Larger Yellow ants, Little Black ants, Little Fire ants, Odorous House ants, Pavement ants, Pyramid ants, Red Imported Fire ants, Small Honey ants, Southern Fire ants, and Velvety Tree ants.

Ant colonies can range in number from 300,000 to 500,000! Entire colonies can uproot & relocate quickly when threatened. Scientists estimate that for every person on earth there are 1.5 MILLION Ants!

Ants are social insects, and live in COLONIES usually underground, but also enter homes and buildings for food or shelter. Ants eat practically every kind of food, but Ants entering homes are looking for sweets or protein rich food sources.
The most common wall-nesting ants are:
    • Carpenter ants
    • Crazy ants
    • Odorous house ants
    • Pharaoh ants
    • Rover Ants (also called “piss ants’)

    Over 700 species of Ants live in the US {25 species infest homes.}

Ants are very social bugs that live in large colonies usually underground or in walls. And Ants are always working on EXPANDING their territory!

Ants feed on just about anything, but usually INVADE homes looking for sweets, or protein sources. “Piss Ants” are one of the most common type of ant infesting homes and yards throughout the Phoenix AZ Valley.

Ants are interesting as they often fight over territory. (unless they’re Argentine Ants.) We recommend MONTHLY or Bi-Monthly Pest Control service for GUARANTEED control ants around your home or office… (If ants come back so do we;)

    Fire Ants

Pest Control for Fire Ants requires scheduled inspections and pest control services, because Fire Ants {like other ants} tend to re-invade!

It’s always most effective to do a thorough INSPECTION in you home and yard to LOCATE and IDENTIFY nests. These nests can then be effectively treated individually with proper insecticide, and BAITS that eradicate the entire colony.

Fire ants in the Phoenix Valley are NOT the aggressive RED IMPORTED FIRE Ants species that pose a major medical threat. They are the Southern Fire Ant species which still sting, but do not attack as aggressively. OUTSIDE in yards, these ants usually nest somewhere close to the kitchen but in the soil. Common nesting places are under stones, at the base of trees, bushes, also in gas and water meter boxes, or other objects that provide shelter. Sometimes Southern Fire Ants infest INSIDE homes, usually in a warm area close to the ground. Southern Fire sometimes remove insulation in electric and phone wires, and GNAW on soiled CLOTHING. They like to feed on seeds, nuts, other bugs, honeydew, SWEETS, and meats.

Fire Ants are always working on EXPANDING their colonies…We recommend MONTHLY or Bi-Monthly Pest Control service for GUARANTEED control of ants around your home or office… (If ants come back so do we;)
