Winter Pest Activity in Greater Phoenix AZ

January 8, 2019 by Pest Control Mesa, AZ

Phoenix AZPhoenix Winter Pests from Scorpions – Termites

Bark Scorpions will gather in groups of 20-30 to nest during winter months throughout the Phoenix Valley. If you are seeing scorpions during the winter, it can be a sign of a bark scorpion nest close by.

Scorpions in Arizona live all year long. They are notoriously resilient, and survive the coldest temperatures our desert has.

Bed bugs are a problem all year round, come rain or shine. There is no season for Bedbugs. {Or it’s always Bedbug season.} These nasty little blood suckers are always finding a way to broaden their horizons by HITCHHIKING to new places.

RATS – Roof rats are one of the most active pests during the winter in greater Phoenix AZ. Winter months and cooler whether sends Roof Rats into homes throughout the Phoenix AZ Valley! They can climb trees or strait up a stucco wall to get into an attic, where they reproduce and gnaw on wires, wood trusses, water lines, and just make a MESS!

Roaches are not seen as often during winter months. They like to stay in warm areas an infest inside homes, and sewer systems, where they reproduce & THRIVE, feeding on rotting organic materials.

Termite Inspection PhoenixTermites are not usually the most active above ground in the Phoenix and Mesa AZ Valley during the winter, but this year we’ve had lots of activity this winter! Termites will continue to THRIVE during very cold weather deep underground! SUBTERRANEAN termites are the most common termite species in the valley, and they nest deep underground and come up to feed on wood (or wood containing products).
