IN GLENDALE, Arizona:
A young girl used a home alert system to tell Glendale fire officials a swarm of bees was attacking her grandmother. The bees had swarmed the guest house near their home Tuesday a.m. The Grandmother, and the 4-year old girl, were taken to a Glendale hospital.
The Arizona Republic says Glendale Fire Department officials have reason to believe a neighbor was grooming Africanized bees for commercial purposes. Africanized bees are considered a more aggressive breed than European honeybees.
